How We Got Here

It all started from this 100-year-old Japanese house in Minami Aoyama, in the heart of Tokyo.

Opening the gate and stepping inside the courtyard, one senses that time passes in a more relaxed manner than the rest of the city. The architecture is harmonized with the trees and flowers that shift in colors and scents throughout the four seasons. Many who visited this house have called it a place of sanctuary in the city.

Our designer, Ichiyo Soekawa, was born and raised in this house. She developed her five senses in this space and it has influenced her signature design.
